BAPTIST HOUSING APPOINTS NEW CEO & COO
Vancouver, BC – November 2, 2020: Baptist Housing is pleased to announce the appointment of Marc Kinna as President and CEO. Kinna replaces departing CEO Howard Johnson who has been with Baptist Housing for 32 years and will now transition to Special Advisor focused on leadership and support of future developments, including the redevelopment of Inglewood Care Centre into a new comprehensive campus of housing and care. “I am excited for Baptist Housing’s future and feel privileged to have been a part of this ministry for much of my career,” said Johnson.
Kinna has been with Baptist Housing since 2006 and currently serves as Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer. His knowledge and experience as a leader in the senior living industry positions him well to lead Baptist Housing. Kinna will become CEO effective November 16, 2020.
Kinna holds a business degree from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from Trinity Western University with a specialization in Non-Profit and Charitable Organization Management. Kinna is the Past-President of the BC Seniors Living Association, which serves over 175 member communities across British Columbia. He has also served on the board of directors of WINGS Fellowship Ministries serving women and children fleeing domestic violence for the last ten years.
“I consider it to be an honour to serve our mission at Baptist Housing and I am excited about our future as our team continues to enhance and expand the services we offer seniors in British Columbia,” said Kinna.
As part of the leadership transition, Terri Griffing, currently Baptist Housing’s Vice-President of Human Resources, will assume the role of Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer. Griffing has over 30 years experience in Human Resources and Labour Relations. “I look forward to continuing to serve Baptist Housing in this new capacity. I have had opportunity to work closely with the operations teams these past years and am excited to join with them as we work together to serve our Residents and our team members.”
